Abstract & Impressionist

Abstract
Abstract photography moves beyond representation. It transforms shape, color, texture, and movement into visual poetry. Freed from the need to depict a specific subject, this style invites open interpretation—where the image becomes an expression of mood, rhythm, or thought. It challenges the viewer to experience rather than recognize.
Impressionism
More than a style, Impressionism is a way of seeing. It values perception over perfection, spontaneity over structure. In photography, it’s expressed through fleeting light, gentle movement, and layered textures—each image a whisper of a memory, not a replica of reality. It invites viewers to pause, feel, and interpret.

Fine Art Photography Through Motion and Observation
As a photographic artist, my images blend elements of abstraction, impressionism, and
emotional storytelling. I create a different perceptual view of Frederick’s natural landscapes,
streetscapes, and iconic architectural buildings. I invite you to observe the world
differently—through light, motion, and mood.

Why canvas?
For my style of photography, I prefer canvas over prints. In my universe, the evocative nuances of Abstract Impressionism are enhanced and contributed by the canvas. Below are some reasons for my choice.
Textured Appearance
Canvas has a unique texture that can enhance the visual appeal of artwork and photographs, adding depth and a more painterly look.
Durability and Longevity
Canvas is a sturdy material that can withstand wear and tear, making it a durable choice for prints that will be displayed for years to come.
No Glare
Canvas prints have a matte or satin finish, which minimizes glare and reflections, making them ideal for various lighting conditions and viewing angles.
Versatility
Canvas prints can be used to display a wide range of images, from family photos to artwork, and are suitable for various decor styles.
Lightweight
Canvas prints are relatively lightweight, making them easy to hang and transport compared to framed prints.
Variety of Sizes
Canvas prints are available in various sizes, allowing for customization and the creation of focal points or gallery walls.
Minimalist Aesthetic
Unframed canvas prints offer a clean, minimalist look that can complement modern decor.
